sell me on a new rest....
« on: February 24, 2013, 10:21:56 PM »
well i am itching for something new.my tt smackdown pro seems to be getting fletching contact.easy fix i know.but it has sparked my shopping.i really dont like the idea of serving a rest into my cables so i think i want to stick with limb driven rests.
can i gain anything from any of the new rests out besides 100 bucks or more lighter wallet?
i really dont have any gripes with my tt rest besides getting contact.

Check out the trophy ridge revolution. It will do all you ask of it and clear the fletchings well.

If you are using a smackdown and getting contact something is set up incorrectly. Any incorrectly set up talk away rest will have contact. I would take it to a pro shop and  have it fixed versus spending 100+ on a new rest.

:yeah: id stick with the one you have and put the money into something else besides youll be out time tuning the new set up on top of the money spent. I do know the rope used stretches I had to adjust my tt a few times so far because of this.

Know a couple of guys using the Revolution and it works well for them on there hunting rigs.  I'll stick with the QAD HDX, reliable and easily adjusted when the need arises.
Spent most of my $$ on huntin, fishin & retrievin dogs, the rest I just pretty much wasted.

I love my QAD Ultra-Rest.  Its not the rest that is your problem.  You just need to take a little slack out of the cord and that will make the rest drop sooner and eliminate the fletching contact  :dunno:

i keep my cord tight as all get out.and my reast and rig was tuned by one of the best.i think i just need to start running cock vane out.idk i just want some new stuff.i think its time for a new bow.i really do hate the idea of a rest running off of my cables like the qad does though.i will probably set up another tt or maybe a limbdriver prov

Im running my tt off my up cable. But I dont like the long rope running to my lower limbs, id put the money in a new bow then if you have a old one.

I used the pro-v for quite a wile and it is awesome. The only reason I switched to a standard limbdriver is because I wanted something off the lower limb. I have heard the smackdown pro is supposed to be pretty good too though.
