Fish of a lifetime for sure!

With that said, Fish of a lifetime for sure!  :IBCOOL: If I landed that hawg, I would tag it (if legal to do so). Not one for tagging nates, but I would make an exception for a fish like that!

...and this is why fish like this are fish of a lifetime now. Once the fish is dead, its dead, and so is its gene pool. Hard to make babies when you're dead. Do the rest of the fishing community a favor and take measurements, take good pictures, get a replica made. Let someone else catch their fish of a lifetime.
I hunt, therefore I am.... I fish, therefore I lie.

Just wondering, how many people saying let that fish go if he's dead he is no longer in the gene pool try to go kill the biggest buck or bull every year and take it out of the gene pool?  Next time take a picture if that buck instead of shooting him, but make sure not to lift him off the ground for the pic!  Btw nice fish and pic

This is soooo true. In WA there are a few streams left were you can kill. But not because these rivers are making escapment. In fact NONE of the rivers open to kill have ever made escapement in the last few years.
You can kill on these rivers thanks to the Forks city council and a handful of local guides. Just cause its legal, dosent make it right....

The only difference is that deer and elk are not literally going extinct while we watch. Steelhead are.

I agree - freaking out about a picture is probably a bit of an overkill. But killing a fish like that, with the species disappearing, would be a bad move.

Another major difference is a fish that size not only has good genes but more importantly has been allowed to mature. If our deer and elk were allowed to mature to their prime we would see a whole lot more monsters running around, even a 3 point making it to that 7-8 year old range would be a monster. :twocents:

Hopefully it survived.

people on here preaching about taking a wild fish out of the water...right...catch a steelhead of a lifetime and not take a pic

Who says you can't get a picture without removing it from the water?

Some people have a hard time adapting

Let me add some gas to this Bonfire...

I see pictures of people like NW Wild Country, Steelhead nation, Young Hot Women fisherwoman steelheaders, etc... You get the point and they have 95% of the fish out of the water.  YOU know darn well it was a photo opt with that fish so they can sell more goods and products.

So why aren't you call jumping on them?  If it was a Washington Fish I would hope he would have taken a quick picture and get it back in ASAP.  And if it was an OP river the state allows on native kill on a few rivers.  YIKES!!!
