I believe a non resident Oregon elk tag will run you $500.

Most of eastern Oregon is draw only for rifle season. Archery is mostly over the counter tags. Western Oregon is mostly over the counter tags for both archery and rifle. Cost for the tag and hunting license will be close to $700.

So first you need to decide do you want to hunt east or west, and rifle or archery?

It cost me the same to fly round trip to Arkansas and kill 2 deer or pay out of state OR tags for deer and elk... I personally thin the mule deer hunting may be worth it but not the elk.  :twocents:
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

You couldn't pay me to hunt Oregon(for deer).   I can get at least two quality hunts between WY, ID, MT, and CO every year.

3% is for bear and antelope. It's 5% for deer and elk. But half of that 5%    can end up going to outfitters, so most of the popular units noresidents can only draw 2.5% of the tags. But with that said I drew a deer tag with 2pts and had a great hunt and last year I drew an antelope tag with only 6pts.
