Moultrie D-40?
« on: September 27, 2008, 08:32:39 PM »
Howdy
The other day my kids decided to supprise me with a Moultrie D-40.  They thought it would be cool to try and get pics of the bobcat and other critters that run through our place.  My question is how do I download the pics to my computer?  I use a Mac and the USB function on the camera says it is formatted for a PC.  If I get a SD card and reader will I be able to view them om my Mac or am I s.o.l.?  I used the cam the other night and got some pretty cool raccoon pics but the internal memory only hold 15 pics at a time.  I am kinda dumb when it comes to this stuff so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think as long as you have a SD card and a reader you should be able to view that way, Tmike has a mac and a D-40 but you 'll have to wait until tomorrow night for his respone he is scouting deer this weekend ... you might pm him! Good luck!

Thank you!  The kids want to send pics to their friends.  It seems like they bought it more for them than for me, eh?  ;)

I have a D-40 and a MAC. I just stick the SD card in my regular digital camera and then download them to the computer.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.  Where is the best place to get an SD card?  The ones they have at   Cabela's are around $70.  I don't want to throw down that kind of cash for a yard toy.

Cool!  Damn it, I was right next door to Target this afternoon.  I guess that I will have to haul into town tomorrow after my chores.  Thanks!

I'll post some pics from it tomorrow.  I'll run out and set it up by the apple tree and try for some deer shots instead of the raccoons on the porch.  The pics turn out much better with the sd card than with the internal memory.  It is not bad for a cheepo cam.

I posted this awhile ago. This was taken 2 weeks ago. For the price you can't go wrong. the battery life doesn't last as good as the i60, but you'll get several weeks.
