I'm wanting to clear out the gun safes a bit, but really don't know how to price stuff fairly to sell.Anybody do this for a hobby or have any hints on how to do it or where to turn for help? Also, I have one collector's item of a rifle: a BAR in 7MM Rem Mag that was a RMEF Banquet rifle about 20 years ago. Incredible gold inlay work on both sides of the flat receiver (6-point bulls sparring on one side, bull leading harem into aspens o the other side). Never shot. Stored properly in silicone sock in humidity controlled safe so it's 100%.How in the world do you price something like that? Thanks,Dan
Dan - I run market values on ammo, guns, and other things almost daily trying to see where the trends are. Gunbroker.com is the best site as it seems to be the most used and most encompassed. I search for the item and try to find 10 that have sold over the last month. Throw out the highest price and the lowest price and then average the remaining 8 to get an idea of what the market will bear at the moment. If you want, PM me what you have and I can get a rough idea for you.KelseyHigh Mountain Hunting Supply, LLC
You could look into a reputable auction outfit for that BAR.
