Found this bear up high last fall. We were not prepared for a bear hunt at the time. I thought it was a goat at 1 st. Maybe we'll find him next year.

:fire.:

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

Only bear I've killed....but he's not exactly "black"

We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

Somebody we ran into out in the woods shot this bear. We helped take it out with my cart. My son posing with the bear.

I dont remember the guys name............Maybe he's a member or visitor.

Did you buy or make that cart? i was thinking of buying like a baby style with 100 lbs max weight to pack animals out with...then thought might need something with more then a 100 lbs max weight... what brand is that or is it homemade?
Boom boom boom...

I  bought from a woman on craigs list. She had a garage full of them. There is no brand name on the cart, and I don't remember if there was one on the box. It is good for up to 170#. I have had 200+ in it, and it held up fine. I hauled my brother and his gear for about a mile. :chuckle:

My husband went bear hunting and sat in a tree stand for 18 hours.  I think he started to lose his mind. He wrote a poem while stuck in the tree...

I sit in a stand hunting bear
I look and look but nothing's there

My eyes strain, my butt gets sore
And nothing moves, what a bore

I hope, I wish, I pray to see
that stupid bear comes close to me

I just want 1 , well maybe more
2 or 3 maybe 4

I will take my pick , I will sling a stick
I hope he's fat and really thick

I will track him down, pistol ready
I will have him stuffed and call him teddy

He did get his bear! I don't have a picture right now.

Fresh meat. Learning the proper etiquette for hunting as I go.

This was my first hunting trip ever three days after buying my tag and license in August 2011. Snoqualmie North Fork river road. Found him napping in the thick. 20yrd shot with 12g 00buck and my Mossberg 500. What seemed to be miles deep in the woods ended up being a 200yrd drag to the truck! Great day!
