*NEW* 2013 Ranch and Home Tri-Cities Bowfishing Tournament
« on: March 03, 2013, 07:43:17 AM »
Started a new thread so that everyone wouldn't have to wade through the 2012 info to get to the new stuff.

We're looking forward to having an even better tournament this year with our major sponsor Ranch and Home. These guys are really stepping up to support bowfishing in the Pacific Northwest.

See you all on June 29th, 30th !!!

Update on the 2013 Tri-Cities Bowfishing Tournament (June 29-30)

#1: The tournament is now the 2013 Ranch and Home Tri-Cities Bowfishing Tournament. These guys helped us out a lot last year but this year they are stepping up big time. Tons of Raffle items and gear. It's going to hopefully allow us the ability to increase our Payouts this year for the top 30% of the teams. Shoot last year we paid out over $1200 to first place alone, $5000 total for all winners. By the way if you need Bowfishing Gear, check out Ranch and Home. John in the Archery department, has finally got the good stuff in. Plus their going to be carrying some new arrows by RPM. Very Cool.

#2 It looks like we are going to be able to use the Overflow area at Hood Park for our out of town campers, Dinner, Raffle and Ceremonies. Yea, It's a little rough but we get to be stinky selves and enjoy good stories and company without bothering the camp hosts or other guests in the park. If you need power you will have to bring a benny, or reserve a camp spot with hookups. Last time I checked there were over 25 sites left. Don't wait too long.

You can pick up registration packets locally at Ranch and Home in Kennewick or online at Washingtonbowfishing.com. Registration is very similar to last year in the fact that the order that you register is the order in which you launch within your hp class. So get those filled out and sent in early.

I've seen that a lot. Usually a nock will get bent, widening the throat. (fix: replace the nocks often) Secondly, after shooting a few thousand arrows, the serving on the string will get too warn. (fis: reserve, or move your rest and nock set up or down 1/4" (cheap way). Let me know if you need help, you can send you bow with your dad friday and I can take a look :)

I would also bet you throat on the nock is open to far. I switched to just using the uni knock system because I had a lot of people having arrows pop off on there draw back. A guy can pinch them back together and get a few shots before you have to do it again. The plastic breaks down and then it gets to just be time to replace them. Like stickers said it could also be your serving getting thin if it's a well.

Ya just never know....some guys love yellow jackets, some won't touch them. Everybody has their gear that they use and love.

As far as knocks...you basically get what the builder gives you. Mostly I'm seeing out there (on yellowjackets) are the ruby reds that come with the AMS slides. They're not the best. I'm putting green slims on all mine nowadays. They're great...when you bust one, just remove the slide stop remove slide and put it on the new arrow, install stop on new arrow. You don't even have to retie. Slick. Plus it allows you to purchase less safety slides, cause your transferring them to only the arrow your shooting. It's a waste to have 10 extra arrow in a tube with their own safety slides installed.

Seriously, send them over tonight. 5 minutes tops.

Well were about a month away from the 2013 Ranch and Home Tri-Cities Bowfishing Tournament. To be eligible for the early registration you must have your entry fees postmarked by the 1st of June.   Were expecting for the turnout to be even better than last year (26 teams). Shoot, we had that many just for Spawn-a-thon!!!!!

Dear PNW Bowfishers,

This years sponsors have been extremely good to us. To acknowledge their support and to pass along the generosity we are going to be giving Tournament shirts free to all participants that Pre-register for the shoot by June 6th (the last day to submit shirts to the printer). We are also extending the Early bird fee ($60) until June 6th too to accommodate the shirt offer. Hopefully many if you will take advantage of this. Of course if you have already paid for your shirts, your money will be refunded. Hope to see you all at the WA State Shoot and then Tri-Cities.

Thanks,
Tri-Cities Tournament Committee

Looks like we're going to be blessed with near PERFECT weather this weekend for the tournament. If you ever wanted to try a bowfishing tourney this should be the one. Sun, light wind and only a "Big 20" format.

Hope to see you all there.

Bowfishers,

Dave, Doug, Mike and I would like to thank you all very much for for coming out to the 2013 Ranch and Home Tri-CitIes Bowfishing Tournament this last weekend.  It was amazing weather and the numbers show it. This year we had 73 participants on 28 teams. We weighed in a new record total of 10,000+ lbs of carp in two days and had at least another 6000-8000lbs that were additionally brought in.  We also set another record for us; we were able to pay out $7300.00 to our participants! Although it was extremely hot and exhausting at times we are extremely thankful that we could spend the weekend with such a great group of people doing what we love. We would like to thank everyone that helped out, even in the smallest way. As we sat down after it was all over, that was the one thing that we all noticed, was the amount of help that you all offered. Truly a great group of people!
