Sheep Units for the Bow
« on: March 03, 2013, 05:45:15 PM »
Do any of the sheep units have terrain particularly better suited to bow hunting than others (ie cover for stalking, etc)? Just curious about people's thoughts. Thanks for any insights.

There are a few trees over here in the tieton units where one could stick a ram with a arrow.  I would put in your normal hunts and find draws where you could sit above and wait for them to funnel up.  Using a bow in Clemans unit wouldn't be bad.

Vulcan Mountain is heavily wooded many of the places the sheep hang out.

Do you have a lot of points or do you just feel lucky  :chuckle: that you might draw

Drew the 09' Tieton tag. That would be a good one but Clemans wouldn't be bad either. Sheep around here aren't known for their skittishness.

Hunting partner drew Tieton a couple years ago.  That unit wouldn't be terrible to bow hunt.

Don't mean to be a debbie downer, but unfortunately the odds are you'll never draw any sheep unit in your life.  :bash:

Manson.  I drew it this year, but I hunt with a rifle.  There was a guy there that had shot rams the past three years with a bow (raffle/auction tags).
