Depends on where I guess, I do know the NE WA group is hit or miss...if the season opens closer to Oct 1 is the best and u really see a decline in rut activity in this week towards the end...another thing is we get a big change in weather sometimes around here it goes from being the typical dry fall weather to cold and wet for a week and it seems to just shut the rut off. I have been in hells canyon on Oct 10th and see bach groups of bulls with 0 rut activity

I have seen crazy rut activity as late as Oct. 19th. Bulls were screaming there heads off. 3 fights that day that i got to hear but not see. The big one that sent all the others running must have been huge cause the losers running off were nice bulls!
