I have not hunted with Battle Creek but I have been all over their main two areas of Pedro Mountain and the Ironside Mountain area. They are very aggressive in posting the land they lease, all the way to the top of Ironside, which alternates public and private as you drive up.  They refresh the signs annually.  Some really nice mulies and elk up there, some non-typicals.  Pedro looks great too.  It is more locked up with almost no public access.

I used to bang helmets with John Cole in high school, he was a pretty darn good football player, and athlete in general.  I would bet he's a top notch guide from what I remember about him.
