I voted dont care. I have all my success the first days before the weekend. Since I hunt Cows on the E side I dont really worry about calling and such. Just nice relaxed cows to fling arrows at is all I need.

I voted the 8th. The rut is going on better then. Also gives a week to archery deer hunt before its off to elk camp.

I like it back to the 8th , I wish it would go back to the 15th to get us away from the fire danger during early september. I also like to archery deer hunt the first week in september.

I'd like it to start on the 8th as long as we AND muzzleloaders each get two weekends on either end. I believe it rotates with the calendar to give us that opportunity.

I'd take a floating day if it was the 2nd Tuesday of the month.

Make it the second Saturday of Sept, and give us two full weeks (i.e., three weekends).  Would shorten our season by 4 days.  But, most only hunt the first week or the second week.  If we ahd three weekends, would also accomodate those that don't have vacation time to be able to get out during the week.

Alternatively, just give us a month (like Oregon).  Start last Saturday in August and go to third Sunday in Sept.

I never had payed vaction or any payed time off for that matter......no workie, no money.....STILL......I hunted without consideration to days off.  We planned all year for time off whether fishing or hunting.  Its that important to us.  Ive always preferred week days in the woods or on the rivers.....

And no, it wasnt the type of job I had, good bad or otherwise........so dont go there.

Voted Sept 8th simply because that's latest date in poll. I would love to are the season later. Sept 15th would be great. The last several seasons the 90 degree temps during day has been quite a headache. I know many that say they had elk bugling all around them, but I must not be that lucky.  Only time I've heard peep is around 3 in morning. Lol. I guy needs to carry 2 gal of water to stay hydrated. Not to mention the yellowjackets, they have eaten more of the elk we have harvested then we have by rhe time we get packed out. Anyway, a later season would be great.
Now therefore, please take your weapons, your quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field and hunt game for me

I may not have alot but what I have I got honest.....

I'd rather be hated for what I am then be loved for what I'm not

Is it me, or are people getting dumber

I'm one of the few that voted keep it the same. I tend to have the most action the first couple days of the season.
