Are you sure it wasn't the Skagit guys?

Just kidding around of course. Everyone just needs to be good stewards of the areas we hunt...bag a few bears...and take care of the gates.

We are all Saints, couldn't be us. :chuckle:

I agree though, we have a great spring hunting opporunity here and don't need to lose it.

One Skagit hunter emailed me he had passed on a smallish bear.

Also, I emailed Brandon and apologized for my mistake.  I also offered to return my gate key if necessary.  At least I'm glad I wasn't the only one confused on that, figures I'd be the "lucky" one to actually have a coyote walk up to me though.     I don't want to mess this up for others.

You were granted access to hunt black bears, and black bears only. This does not include coyotes or targets.

    And that's all I will say about that.

This is a prime example of why certain things should not be posted on a public forum.....It was a coyote people.  You would have thought a guy used the key to build a homestead behind the gate. :dunno: :dunno:  Absolutely Silly in my opinion  :twocents:  And for anyone that contacted the person in charge to rat a person out for shooting a coyote....Shame on you!! Next time just take your holier than thou high road and mind your own business.

Well, went out and covered more ground yesterday. Did a little exploring up some new to me roads by Lake Rosinger and didn't see any new signs of bear activity. Granted...it was rainy and we didn't get out of the truck a whole lot but it was a nice drive anyway. Over on one of the other parcels we had a chance to chat with one of the logging guys. I've seen him up a few times and always stopped to chatted. He said that he hasn't seen really any sign or activity to speak of. So, just gonna keep exploring and checking things out.

Anyone else see anything over the weekend?

Nope....well...maybe.

There was a big ol' white van with gov plates. They had a little sandwich board sign that said training in progress. Basically looked like one guy in a ghillie suit, one guy spotting, and another guy with a stick. Didn't see any long guns but the ghillie guy had either a big soft case of a shooting mat. They didn't look real happy to see us driving by....

I was out Saturday. I went and looked for the bear I saw on day 2 and I found this 5 feet from where I was standing and watching him last week.  :bash:
Do bears have a sense of humor?  :chuckle: :chuckle:. I will be back now that I know where he is. Second picture is about a half mile away. This poo a few days older. Also saw two grouse and a bobcat. Really nice looking bobcat. I had a crappy camera so I couldnt get a good picture of the grouse. My buddy got some good ones of the grouse and bobcat.
