It was nice meeting you H20Hunter and good seeing you again Turner.  The one thing I have to comment on is that I've met some really nice people while bear hunting this year including the two named above.  My buddy and I were walking down a road when a rig came up behind us.  The guy didn't come down the road and left a note on my truck saying he didn't want to screw up our hunt so he backed off and went somewhere else.  I thought that was really classy of him, whoever you are thank you.  If you are on this site please PM so I know who you are.

On a side note for H2O, at last light I was in that clear cut near that scrape and tried some calling but didn't see anything come in.  I nearly had a heart attack when we drove out for the night.  My buddy didn't tightly latch the rear tail gate as we drove off and we heard this loud thunk that slightly shook the truck.  My heart stopped thinking it was something to do with my newly rebuilt transmission.  We both jumped out and laughed our asses off when we realized the tailgate had just dropped.

Went out today for the last couple of hours of lights, lots of new tracks since I was there on Sunday.  I walked about a half mile in where I could see up and down both sides of the road, I tucked into some trees.  After about 30 minutes I heard a branch break down the road and back in the shadows I could see movement, I raised my gun and out steps a (soon to be) nice buck horns already outside his ears.  I am trying to attach a cell phone pic of it.  Hopefully next time its a bear!  Loving the spring hunt.

Peel was seen just this past Saturday. Right on one of the main roads with more trees peeled in the timber.

Hey Turner, less than 50 yds. You know the spot. End of the road where you turn around. Last thing I expected to come out of that thick ass brush. It was in the shadows and looked dark I could only see an animal moving at first, would of swore it was a bear until its head popped out of the brush.  Probably wishful thinking at the time. Bear tracks up and down the road, just haven't been there at the right time.

Well... went out again this afternoon with the whole family... again, either that or don't go.

We went back into Campbell, and to the spur where I saw the bear track last week. Left the kids in the car, wife and I take off down the spur. Got half way down, past last weeks bear track, and some crazy bird starts alarm calling back in the firs. We stop, and wait... soon to hear a "whack" "whack" "whack" of wood hitting wood. Didn't see it, but at this point of the season, I'll call it a bear just to make myself feel good. We freeze and wait it out.. a bit, but it's not moving towards us. Realizing I forgot my calls in the rig, we sneak back to get them (that and wife forgot her pistol). By the time we come back nothing else. Hung out called a bit, went up to the clearcut to glass down on the area, came back called a bit more.

The rest of the outing was uneventful. I'll be back out maybe Tuesday.
