Couple things:
When going through gates, are you supposed to lock them back up or leave open?
Also can you camp on the land or have to be out every day?

Pretty sure you need to leave all gates as you find them (i.e. locked). Don't want some tweakers sneaking in a dumping a couch. I don't see why you couldn't camp as long as you abide by normal DNR rules, it's not liek timber co land where you need to be out every night.  Just don't camp where there's logging going on  :).

I would say in all aspects of hunting....leave the gates as you found them. Don't think I've ever been told to leave one open by anyone that controls access.

Camping should be okay if it's DNR land. Unless they specifically told you no camping.

Yes you must lock and secure the gate behind you both entering and leaving.

I have 2 weeks off pretty much when ever I want to take them. What 2 weeks do you guys think would be the best for spring bear? I'm hunting 300ft to 1500 ft. Last 2 is what I'm thinking.

I would use the vacation on the last two weeks.

Probably your best bet is the last two weeks but I'm not sure I would take to weeks off.

If I don't do it before my next job starts I'll lose it. I was going to take them begining of april, but since I was drawn for bear I mine as well hunt.

If you have to take it then last two weeks would be best.  Lots of time to hunt in evenings depending on work schedule.

Yea, The area I hunt is 5 min from my house. I'll make sure my son gets one with weekends and evenings, and if I end up getting one before last two weeks, at least the weather should be nicer.

Got my permit in the mail today. Good news: Looks like season extension to June 15 is effective this year.
