Anyone down for rabbit hunting this week?
« on: March 11, 2013, 10:48:01 AM »
Hello my name is Chazz short for Charles.  I'm a 100% service connected Veteran of the ARMY INF.  I have plenty of time to hunt.  I'm wanting to get back into hunting but don't know any good areas.  Lewis was a rabbit ghost town.  lots of trails and a few holes but no "hairs".

I like hunting rabbits a lot.  They're easy to clean and make a really good stew or slow cook on the spit.  It also gives my dogs a chance to chase something and exercise.  I've been hunting once in 15 years up here since I moved from OK.  Which was behind Fort Lewis last Saturday.

I would like to find someone preferably someone 40+ yrs old.  I don't some hot headed kid driving me nuts.  I'm a serious hunter and follow every rule I'm aware of.  I'm kind but that's often mistaken weakness.  I'm from a small farming community in N Tulsa County OK.

I prefer older people honestly due to their experience in life as well as hunting.  There are great things lost everytime an older person passes away.    I have a pulmonary embolism in my left lung and I'm on blood thinners.  I don't move too fast and I'm patient.  I hate going alone because of the risk factor.  Not to mention I have a baby boy coming in late April(hopefully then:)).

I'm no weirdo or anything of that nature.  I'm just an ole' country boy wanting to back into the outdoors and learn about hunting up here.  And maybe I'll even teach someone a trick or 2.  What I learn will be passed on to my son.  Thanks for your time.

Sincerely Chazz

PS I live in Esperance which is surrounded by Edmonds.  I'd rather drive my truck to Fort Lewis.  But if that's where "we're" going to hunt so be it.  I'd like to try somewhere in snoh county or there ab outs.

Welcome to the site Chazz.  First off thank you for your service.  Perhaps one of these days we can get to gether and chase bunnies.  I have not done that since I was a kid growing up in northern Michigan.

If you would like to try coyote hunting later this spring, I would consider taking you east side of state. I know enough public land that has decent coyote hunting and spring pups aren't as educated. PM me or email me: ken@measuretechinc.com. I have a couple friends who are also previous service men. We can go slow and take breaks. Maybe wont hit ad many stands but can have an extra sandwich and cup of coffee. I'm 48 and hunt dogs fairly regularly. I enjoy showing people the ropes on dogs. It's addictive. Just a thought. About 6-8 weeks or so and it will start for spring.
