Well lets see how many fine HW folks got lucky with probably the most coveted spring bear tag.  :hello:

I dont think they changed it this year but i wish they had because then the season would be until June 15th.

When i drew a couple years ago i only saw 2 other hunters out their. I really never saw anyone. I didnt see a ton of bears it was over 10 but i dont remember the exact number. I archery hunted until my last weekend and then the 2 bears i saw were diving into the brush on the way in.

My wife had plans for us on memorial day weekend so i missed the best weekend of the season. This year i told her i am not going anywhere, planning anything for that weekend.

Yup... i drew. My brother in law drew and a buddy drew. Should be a fun time. It is a great hunt.

Why do you think it says, "team slayer pack mule" by my call sign?

Its gonna be great. Of course, the way you hunt, you need a companion, not a packer. :chuckle:

The wife was asking me if I would be able to fill the freezer this spring. Then she spotted laughed and asked when was the last time I shot a bear...

2008 she was with me

I think I will have to drop the bow and grab the 280.

Is everyone going to make it to the meeting coming up?

Should be interesting.

I also thought i should provide a link for people who have harvested bear in the past, sent in a tooth and never got the age of the bear back from WDFW.

I checked the link recently on my fall bear last year....nothing yet. I understand it takes a full year to get the results back and posted.

I think quite a few permits are going to get filled in the extended time, smart move by the game department on making this change.

I was drawn the 1st year (2008).  I have been putting in since unsuccessfully.  This year I wasn't selected although I put in w/5 points.  Its a great area.  I'll try again next year w/6 points but at 73 I'm running out of daylight :)  I still can say that the 2008 boar was the best out of 5 so far.
