How many of you OIL tag hunters submitted a pic for this years cover?

I like the way WDFW has gone about the last couple years covers, last year youth hunters field shots and this year OIL tag hunts.

That picture really is the coolest. The background just pops, goat makes it awesome. Did you get in the record book yet? Cant remember how long you have to wait to get them scored.

Thanks. It scored 50 4/8 Gross making it the new state record by 4/8 for archery!

I don't like their new format, but go figure. They get something for free now that they used to pay for.

Offer up a contest and they get your image and if I am not mistaken can then use your imagine whenever they want too. Of course I might be slightly Jaded.

I did hear someone I know got the cover.

Bearhunter's photo is indeed fantastic, but I think it didn't win because the orientation is wrong for a magazine-style cover. The photo needed to be portrait (vertical) instead of landscape (horizontal). Sometimes a landscape photo can still be cropped to fit a cover, but in this instance you'd lose too much by cropping out the sides.

Agreed, bearhunters photo is awesome but I think they would have needed to crop a lot of the nice background and part of the animal out is likely why it didn't get used. It wouldn't surprise me to see them use the whole shot on the inside of the regs though to show off the permit hunt opportunities. I think they put a couple of them in there each year.

Agreed, I saw a bunch of Aron's photo's of James' goat and they are all on the same level...definitely worthy of that.
