Got 2 love the elk bone!
« on: March 14, 2013, 03:04:49 PM »
Without the pack frame today (my mistake) it was a short hike. I made it a whole 2 hours before I was done and back to truck. Tomorrow we are taking pack frames with us!

all the trails are already hammered with hiker tracks. The number 1 rule get back in, get away, and get lost and then you might get lucky. The hills are getting tattered and its kida  a crap shoot right now. But Yes sheds are found on or off major elk trails.

Cool thanks for the advice, Me and my lady found some good signs of big game a few weeks back on a hiking trip, Tons of fresh droppings, Tracks galore stomped in the mud/Dead layed over grass, Not sure exactly what to look for as far as scrapes or whatever yet, Its all new to me still. But like I said looked like a good place to start, Probably not elk but atleast maybe some deer sheds might be around. Ill have to take some photos next time we head out there and see what everyone thinks. Being as this will be my first year actually hunting ever in my life I dont have any set locations on where deer/elk are located so Its pretty hit and miss, Never seen anywhere with as many signs as this one location though. Cheers man.

Got back to my buddy's house and dropped off a load and ended up going back out and found 1 more! Found 4 total today it was fun and nice to be out. The big 5 I found, my buddy has 4 years of that bull, so i guess i will donate to his pile.
