I was told by a Game Warden in Kettle Falls that you have to buy a kid a license so you can buy them the 2nd pole endorsement.

That doesn't sound right at all.
My oldest is 19, youngest is 15. They never needed any license until they were 14/turning 15. Before that we would get a free catch record card for everything from steelhead to halibut to sturgeon. Unless something has changed dramatically in the last two years (and it hasn't) a 6 year old fishes free anywhere in the state, and there is no "license".
It's in the regs: "Who needs a fishing license?
Everyone age 15 and up.
You do not need a license if you are fishing for common carp, crawfish, bullfrogs, smelt, or to collect relic shells."

Not the fishing licence. Just a 2nd pole it should be free just like catch cards right.  :dunno:

Oh, I gotcha.

Yeah, should be able to buy one for a kid.

Not sure why a 6 year old needs more than 1 rod at a time, I had 3 kids and trying to keep up with one rod each was about all I could handle ;)
