How you cooking your corned beef?

Grew up with the boil method and have done since, but have hearing more and more about steam baked with BEER. 

Cured my own Cash&Carry brisket a few years ago.  It cost more than store bought and was too salty, but some day I may try again since it does have potential.

oven, it was perfect, and i was going to post and forgot alot of people dont know if you dont cut your corned beef against the grain it will usually be tough like leather

Try soaking in water for a couple hrs changeing every hour or so.

That's my prefered method.  Just have to remember to get up early to get it started.  I put the spuds and the carrots in at the same time.  Cabbage I steam first and then let it sit in the pot with the rest of the goodies as I let it rest for a half hour or so before serving.

I've got a machine down and didn't make my plans for our St. Patty's dinner in advance.  Went to Costco and they had a 3#er pre-cooked you just throw in the microwave for 18 minutes.  I knew I was going to regret it, but I bought one anyway.  It was actually great!!!  Sliced it medium and then fried it in butter and peanut oil real quick just to give it a little edge crispiness.  Very surprised it was as good as it was.  Might have to purchase a few more for those days we get home late and nobody wants to cook.  Won't replace our traditional method for most occasions.  But one heck of a lot better than a TV dinner or Campbell's soup.  Made some killer Ruben's for lunch too!

crockpot ... it is funny how I always tell my wife I do not like corn beef but everytime she makes it I eat it    I love cooked cabage and mashed potateos ...yeah I ate pretty good lastnight

My grand parents use to do boiled dinner in a pressure cooker. I miss the sounds and smells of cooking that way!

My Mama made Cornbeef and cabbage dinner for us, it was glorious.

My corned beef turned out exactly the way I DIDN'T want it to. I've crock potted and boiled corned beef plenty of times successfully and they both work great. However... I don't like it when I cook it too long where the dang thing falls apart in a million pieces . I like my corned beef tender, but firm. I know better too. Uhhh!! I did redeem myself with my traditional Irish colcannon. Lumpy mashed potatoes with shredded cabbage, onion, butter, milk, salt and pepper all mixed together... yum.

first i put the corned beef in my slow cooker then i add 2 bottles of guiness in the crock pot. Then i add a shot or 2 of water then turn it on high for 3 hours then turn it on slow to simmer for 5 hours. pretty easy and its all gone at the end of the night lol

I simmered in water for about 3 hours.  Very Good.

Tonight was (Irish Tacos) corned beef in a tort with apple/cabbage slaw.  yum

The little woman boiled in gluten free beer w/ carrots and onions, and then added the cabbage and potatoes at the end. W/whiskey for a drink.... God i love being married into an Irish family!

Put your corned beef in the crock pot, then pour a (thawed) can of frozen concentrate orange juice over it, cook on low 8-9 hours.

Trust me!
