What's a 30-06 spam can worth?

I posted this for sale in the classifieds for my brother who recieved it from a friend. I have no clue what its worth in todays time. Any idea what reasonable asking price is. We have 2 unopened cans.

$200 at bare minimum

You can buy a can of greek 30-06 for $98 plus $12 for shipping through the office of civilian marksmanship program.

You can buy a can of greek 30-06 for $98 plus $12 for shipping through the office of civilian marksmanship program.

Those are 200 rounds, loose packed for $98.  Nite has 192 rounds of clipped garand ammo in bandoleers.  They were selling those for $125 before they ran out.  It is ball, FMJ and has steel in it, so most ranges won't let you use it.  I would pay $150 a can for it if you were up North.

I stand corrected, you're right $125 plus $12 for shipping for a total of $137.

It is 150 grain ball, not AP.

It just has steel in the jacket.  AP is a whole different animal.  The ranges are worried about the HXP sparking and causing fires.  Not likely in the winter in Western Washington. 

Surplus AP .30-06 is "usually" corrosive and not worth $2 a round in my opinion.

I would like some ap just for the bullet, to load in some 300 win mag and see how thick of steel it can punch through. :tup:
