I looked at the website....is this more for traditional shooters? For now I think I'll stick with my Montecs.

Has anyone tried the "Strickland Helix broad head?" was hoping to hear how they perform on big game in our area. Thanks!

I shot both the AK Broadheads "Massai" and "Samurai" 150gr BHs last year with EXTREMELY good results.  Shot my WA cow elk on opening day (Samurai BH), plus my 359" NM bull (Massai BH).  Both one shot complete pass thru, great blood trails, and both animals crashed to the ground within seconds.   Since the AK BH's are about $90 bucks per 3, I was looking for a similar singel bevel BH that was cheaper.  I recently ordered several of the Strickland Archery 155gr Helix BHs.  I haven't had a chance to shoot them yet, but will do so soon.

FYI, both the AK BH's shot the same off my bow, plus shoot the same as my 150gr field points out of my Hoyt Trykon XL.  I shot last year with total arrow weight of 525gr at approx 275 to 280fps.  I anticipate that the Helix BHs will shoot very similar.  So, they aren't just for traditional archers.  If you notice on their web site, most of the guys shooting them are compound bow archers.

I also have a Mathews Monster that pushes a similar 500gr total arrow weight (including a same 150gr BH) to 305fps.  Again, I get field point accuracy with these single-bevel style two blade BHs.

Hope this helps your decision.
