what photoshop are yall using?? anyone get photoshop CS6 , were looking at getting the cs6 and lightroom 4 .... my wife keeps bugging me to order photoshop already , so just wondering on your opinions on what yall have and are using and how you like it.

I am not familiar with the useability of PS, but if you are up for a cheaper option (free) try GIMP.

CS5, I do not know what the new features of CS6 give you.

I am not familiar with the useability of PS, but if you are up for a cheaper option (free) try GIMP.

I use gimp because it is free...... It works fine, but if I were a photographer like some on here I would want something else......

Im not familiar with GIMP either but I have a hard time believing a free software is going to be as useful as a $600 PS software. If it is then a lot of us really got taken to the cleaners.

i have lightroom 4 and really like it, you can do really quick idiot proof stuff all the way up to advanced pro level stuff.

i tried gimp and find the adobe products way more intuitive and more powerful, gimp seemed hard to learn where lightroom was very easy to pick up

Photoshop is a VERY powerful tool and the things you can do with your picture(or others) are limitless. Also check out some of the plug-ins out there.

Here is a before and after example of what is capable. This is just scratching the surface.

Play around with it and enjoy.

I run CS3 and use it daily for work as well as personal photos. I haven't heard much about CS6 that has really caught my eye but I am due for an upgrade. Coyotehunter is right, in the right hands photoshop is a powerful tool.

CS5 and I dont have a clue what 85% of it can do or does.   I pretty much felt like I was taken to the cleaners when I bought it.

I purchased both LR and Photoshop a few years ago when the kids were in college, the student additions are way cheaper. I here they are not upgradable but I saved a bunch of money.

another question I have is if I buy the disc am I able to install PS on any of my computers at home ? i couldn't really find much wasn't sure if it is strictly to one computer but if im gonna be paying $600 id like to be able to install on multiple computers

My wife thinks she needs cs6 "gotta have the latest and greatest" but i don't really see a need for the upgraded i think cs5 would be just fine
