I want to say you can only put it on 2 devices, maybe 3. I have my PhotoShop CS6 installed on my home office computer and laptop. I haven't had any problems. I know I read somewhere on their website the number of devises one license is good for. Also if you get rid of one of your computers and want to transfer the license to another "new" computer, there is some procedure you need to do. I remember it being not too difficult. But then again I'm a MAC.

now to decide between cs5 and cs6 .... i read some reviews on cs6 and a few people are saying not worth the upgrade but a lot like it

yes you can get it and i think you can get cs 4 still as well ... on amazon i seen them .

I still use CS4. I have thought about upgrading but this is working fine for me. upgrading just means i would have to spend time learning new features and less time creating.

I am not familiar with the useability of PS, but if you are up for a cheaper option (free) try GIMP.

I use gimp because it is free...... It works fine, but if I were a photographer like some on here I would want something else......

Im not familiar with GIMP either but I have a hard time believing a free software is going to be as useful as a $600 PS software. If it is then a lot of us really got taken to the cleaners.

 

Lets see you do this with GIMP.

I have never used the filters before, so I have no clue how  I don't know if it can do that though  It does some things..........

Are you saying GIMP can't do that, or are you saying that you're skilled at the platform of your choice and are looking to justify the expenditure to some stranger on the internet. If you want to spend the money and can justify it to yourself, then by all means. But as a non-pro photographer who has used GIMP for several years and has not scratched the surface, I feel comfortable in saying that GIMP would probably provide as much functionality as a majority of the photo manipulators out there need, and a hell of a lot more. I'll save my $600 and buy a couple of PMags and a brick of .22 LR, thank you.

I am still a noob, which illustrates the point, even the 'lowly' GIMP, is well beyond my needs or capabilities.  But if I had to guess at what you did there, I'd say you did some differential shading and/or colorizing.  I could probably come close with the GIMP, and probably not in the most efficient way with the platform.  But all that proves is that I am a still a photo-noob, which is admitted in the first instance. 

You are just saying that you are better at photo manipulation? 

So is it safe to say that you haven't used GIMP and are saying that it cannot be done in GIMP, without experience? Or are you saying that it might not be suitable for the OP's needs?

Again, I did not say it can't be done in GIMP, I said "Lets see you do this with GIMP"

If it can be done with GIMP then I would like to see someone do it, if they can then PS would be a waste of money for the OP.
