Study: Wolves impact mountain lion population
The Teton Cougar Project in Wyoming has been studying mountain lions for a dozen years, and a number of papers on that research will soon be published, including one that documents how wolves have dramatically reduced the cougar population, primarily by killing lion kittens. "We sometimes find [cubs] torn up to pieces," said biologist Mark Elbroch.

thanks-

wait for it....declining cougar populations will be blamed on "liberal" hunting seasons.  :bash:
Honesty is the best policy,  but insanity is a better defense.

The whole wolf killing bear cubs and cougar kits is leading directly to end hunting bear and cat because natural predation is threatening their existance.....its coming.....

I found a post a few years ago from a guy in Canada who said that where there are many wolves, they will get full grown grizzlies out of their den in the winter time and "play" with them until they are wallowing around in their own guts. Another guy answered him from Minnesota and said they were finding black bears that the wolves were killing in the winter the same way.

I wonder how the USFWS expect to run with wolverines as their next tool, knowing that their wolves are killing them also?
