Brown vetoes semi-auto bill but slams hunters with lead ammo ban

California Gov. Jerry Brown today vetoed a ban on semi-automatic rifles but threw hunters under the bus by signing legislation that outlaws the use of lead ammunition for hunting, the Sacramento Bee is reporting.

BAD NEWS!  The governor of California gave in to anti-hunting organizations and didn’t listen to recent unbiased science and research.

“Despite a 99% compliance rate by hunters, there has been no reduction in condor lead poisoning during the 5 years that the lead ammunition ban has been in place within the condor corridor.”

Hopefully some people on this forum took direct action or at least contacted their family, friends, and colleagues in California to get them engaged.

We can't sit back and let these attacks succeed anywhere in the country.  People need to realize that this type of legislation is orchestrated by national anti-hunting organizations; they are whittling away at our rights and freedoms piece-by-piece, county-by-county, and state-by-state.  HSUS is one of the primary backers of this lead-ban bill.  We have to work together and break away from only being concerned about what happens in Washington State.  The negative actions in one state like California are like a cancer that can spread quickly to other states that have large anti-hunting populations like Washington.

Be ready for a similar attack here because it succeeded in California.

"I don't believe that this bill's blanket ban on semi-automatic rifles would reduce criminal activity or enhance public safety enough to warrant this infringement on gun owners' rights.”
guess he does admitt it is an infringment!
lol did you see some of those comments makes me want to strangle some of those animal rightists.
"When my bow falls, so shall the world. When me heart ceases to pump blood to my body, it will all come crashing down. As a hunter, we are bound by duty, nay, bound by our very soul to this world. When a hunter dies we feel it, we sense it, and the world trembles with sorrow. When I die, so shall the world, from the shock of loosing such a great part of ones soul." Ezekiel, Okeanos Hunter

Keep your ears open, with a win in Cali it won't be long before they bring their cause to Washington.
