Cabela's Recon hunt app is now Trimble Outdoors
« on: March 21, 2013, 05:41:26 PM »
Just noticed Cabela's no longer titles the Recon hunt app. It's back to Trimble now. Anyone else use it?

I use it but don't really know what exactly this means.   I still need to update the app before going out next time but have liked it so far.

I have it but not used it much because it needed service and I hunt by the Canadian border. I have always been worried about high international usage fees on my phone.

Now for $19.99 more we can download the state maps to use offline. Not sure if it is worth it.

Trying to make the same decision. I'll probably go for it.

I've been using the Trimble outdoors all sport GPS, and I love it. I didn't even know about the GPS hunt app. Just downloaded it. Looks like it has way more features that I will be using. Thanks for bringing this up lope

Just downloaded the hunting gps app. It could have been a useful app but inability to zoom in on the maps makes this app useless.  My other gps maps zoom to within 200 feet. This one is about a half mile. Useless for blood trails, trail cams, or any other waypoint.  You could be 1/2 mile away from your waypoint but it looks as though you're right on top of it on the map. Sorry but don't buy this app. I want a refund. Had I known this I would never have purchased. According to this GPS app it could show you in one GMU but really you're in another if your anywhere close to the border. USELESS!!!!!!

Umm, you're slamming a different app.
