The writing is on the wall. They're basically rolling this change out. They had all last fall and this winter to think it over and they have decided. I don't think anything major will change from their proposal with regards to August bear hunting.
You might be right but I'm not giving up. Loosing public land is the beginning of the end. 3 years from now it could be public land during September archery.
It seems that there are many voicing concern over this being a loss of public lands issue. Where were these same people when W sold of hundred's of thousand's of acres of public lands and closed hunting refuges in the last few years, and that wasn't even related to any safety issue

. It's all mostly money related, this safety issue is just "convenient". The State wants to cut a ton of jobs in the DFW to make the budget, so many that to manage the current lands would be impossible. I think the fall out down the road would be closure, or the sale of more lands, stay tuned.
