I couldn't even make it through the hugger video.  Don't get me wrong, I don't like to see our forests get mowed down, but I couldn't take the whining and crying.

I have been deer hunting and had the huggers drive down the gravel roads at breakneck speeds, laying on the horn.  Kinda rude.  I don't go to there rallies and act like a *censored*, why cant they do the same.  I know that the recent events make any run in with a hugger an uneasy situation.  That is no reason for the hostility.  If they would open there eyes and see that we as hunters are the best conservationists.  Pack it in, pack it out, preventing forest fires, reporting poachers, ethical shots of game,  these are all things that I would think that the huggers would appreciate.  Until then, we should just keep on keeping on and try our best to deal with there hi jinx.

Sorry to ramble, just had to say it.

You must of have missed a few things:
#1 I let everyone enjoy the same resources that I am able to enjoy, however I will never stand by and let ANYONE take food off of my table or stand in the way of passing down my heritage to my children.
but hey, I am glad the teacher is educated.

#2 Who stole away our rights to run hounds and bait?
#3 Who stole away the rights to hunt in certain areas?

You think that because you found one ignorant person that they are all ignorant. WRONG! They are not ignorant they know exactly what they are doing. All the education in the world is not going to change them. Every time you compromise with them you loose. You had better stop and evaluate your enemy, because your enemy knows you and is laughing all the way to the bank with your naivety.

BTW, I am glad your wife "LETS YOU HUNT 3 WEEKS A YEAR" good for you. I bet you just can't wait to take your set out of her purse and wear them for a few days a year.

[/quote :yeah:  I had a wife who thought she would let me hunt too.  i cant even remember her name now!

Here is to you macho guys..... :brew: that don't have to check with your wife and and/or kids schedule...and can hunt every day you want. Awesome for you......I on the other hand, feel pretty privileged that i have a wife that is supportive of me missing work, football practice and bringing home game and while she deals with all that goes on while we both work and I'll, gone for 2 weeks at a time. I know her name....and will just keep her as i have in the past 14 years, being a husband and a father is a partnership.....not a dictatorship!

I've never had a bad experience or gotten smug attitude from huggers.  I spend lots of time in the high country scouting, always wearing camo with pride, and making good eye contact with them.  I am usually packing a bow and haven't had any bad vibes. They have a right to be nervous around hunters after the lady in the Skagit being shot, it was awful.  Just be courteous and I think that a lot of our perception on their outdoor ethics is self created by the hunter.  The anti-hunters that you need to worry about spend all of their time on the computer.  Most of the ones that you meet in the mountains are too busy trying to fill a short life with as many breaths in the outdoors as they can inhale, so help 'em make it worthwhile.

Don't help them prove any of their perceptions of a sterotypical ignorant hunter.  ONE positive experience for or a non-hunter in the mountains might change their vote in the next election.  A bad vibe or any attitude that a hunter lets off towards a "non-hunter" - NOT an anti - WILL change every vote for the rest of their life.  Kind of scary.  Just remember the majority of our population doesn't have an opinion towards legislation one way or another and are easily swayed.

The last time I crossed paths with the nature lovers I passed  three groups of them on a hiking trail on my way to deeper woods and they all wished me luck. My buddy and I were decked out in camo and totin guns; and literally every group wished us luck and told us "go get em".

"Thanks for your great insite klickatat...think i will just keep being repectful and work on education vs hostility. When I met my wife she was an anti hunter, non meat eater, and complety uneducated about hunting.....now she hunts, loves venison and lets me hunt 3 weeks a year. oh yeah, we still hike!"

I'm sorry man , but nobody should "LET" you do anything, if that is the case I would re-evaluate my relationship. Especially when it comes to hunting. When I met my wife I was a hunter, I am still a hunter. She liked to think she let me go hunting as well. That type of crap just gets my blood boiling. You need to grow a pair and just do it if you want. If anyone is "letting" a grown man do something there is something wrong. Maybe this is just my twisted view on the subject... :bash: :twocents: :twocents:

My GF says she lets me hunt but she did get pissed when i left for the late whitetail season this year instead of coming to see her... told her tough luck and that it was hunting season... lol

I don't think broken Arrow is saying his wife is his master, but he's just fortunate they don't have problems or issues with hunting season...  my bro in law is the same way with my sister....
