Wolves around Lake Wenatchee
« on: September 15, 2012, 05:55:25 PM »
I didn’t think there were any wolves around Lake Wenatchee but I heard them howling last night, no doubt about what was making that noise.  Anyone else heard or seen wolves in that area?

Off topic but I heard 3 distinct different wolves before they were drowned out by more last weekend  in teanaway. Very loud guessing a few ridges over...

According to WDFW there are no wolves in that area....must be big coyotes.

People spotted, heard and reported wolves around the Lake Wenatchee area, Meadow Creek Area, Twin Lakes area years "before there were ever wolves back in Washington state"......I still remember a picture my 4th grade teacher brought to class that he said he took up at Twin Lakes....remembering back it was 100% wolf!
Also, people have said they heard them and seen them at and around the lookout above Lake Wenatchee (name protected cause I don't want to get yelled at)....so ya, I believe they are there! Just a matter of proving it.....and we all know how that goes!
Then again, get the WDFW to admit there are moose in the Lake Wenatchee area.....Not going to happen!! But people have photos of those too!
I spotted 2 wolves running together in the Swakane Unit last year and am 100% sure of what they were......but....."There are no wolves in the Swakane" Ran into tracks during my late Chiwawa hunt.....but...."There are no wolves in the Chiwawa"

Saw 3 wolves there in 1991.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

Now they are suspecting these wolves took down a pregnant cow.
