Ugly guns,good groups
« on: March 24, 2013, 06:52:50 PM »
Over the last month I've gotten a pair of Savage model 10 predator hunter max 1's,one in .204 Ruger and the other from a member on this site in .223 Remington.I bought them not because I needed either but had a hankering and to have some no recoil shooters to plink with with my cousins boys aged 9,11,13,14.Got them both dialed in and took two of the boys shooting today, great success and huge grins from the kids.I think its a good shooter when an 11 year old is getting 1 inch groups  at 100,the 13 year old was doing better as he has far more shooting experiance.I gave a target the buisness at the end and shot me a 5/8 group mostly in part to running out of talent. Can't wait to see what the .223 will do with some 55 grainers instead of the 77 grainers.Going to start working my uncle over to get a 200 yard station set up which will be super easy to do.The grins on them kids was worth EVERY PENNY!

Yessir, just about Pm'd you last week to ask if you had been shooting it in wind and at about 600 or if you shoot lefty,I figured since you had shot it I'd hit the paper at a 100,A couple of shots of hitting nothing(4x8) backstop,I moved to the 25 yard target and did a redneck boresight to find it  about 4 inches left and 7 inches high.Dialed that in to sub 1/2 inch and then flung some more down the line at 100,adjusted it down and got it right in the bull with 3 shots. Let the kids shoot it last weekend.

Looked over the Pm's and maybe you didn't shoot it with that scope on it.
