They do good work.  They can be rough around the edges but the work they do is great.  It is best if you go there with a plan on what you want.  Oh and Bill is a bit hard of hearing so speak up. ;). I give them two thumbs up.

Might not have the best customer relations.....but know exactly what they are talking about when it comes to Archery.

What do you prefer:  Warm and fuzzy customer service, or a finely tuned pin point killing piece of machinery.

(you know how it's hard to carry on a "normal" conversation with a top notch heart surgeon....well....I want that guy working on my heart, and I will look past the fact that he doesn't have the people skills to talk to me over a beer....However, it is probably due to the fact that he has spent the majority of his life perfecting 1 specific craft)

In this area, I feel Bill is the heart surgeon of archery.

They are awesome in my book.  Went there for my second bow.  They let me shoot almost everything on their range to figure out what I liked.  Told me which ones could be adjusted to my draw length.  There was absolutely no pressure to buy one bow over another.  They had the bow I wanted in stock, but while setting it up they spotted a defect.  I had to wait a little longer while they ordered another, but I'd rather wait than get a bad bow.  I guess I have been lucky and always been in while they weren't busy.  Usually can get a bow tuned or arrows made while I get a little range time.  They also replaced my limbs when the broke and didn't charge for the work (the limbs where still under warrenty).  I need new arrows soon, I just hope I can hold out till I can fly back to WA or have my family ship me some.

I shoot a destroyer 340 (bowtech) and I need my 'unstretchable' factory strings tightened up (they stretched from 73# to 65#).

The Nock Point doesn't even carry bowtech.  I went up there to get my bow worked on.  The guy working in the shop section was honest, said he hated working on the Destroyer, but agreed to work on it regardless, and spent about 45 minutes to an hour working on it.  We went back and forth to the test shot area until it was right, and in the end they charged me a whole $14 and offered me use of the indoor range without additional cost.

Summary, the guy was friendly, but he was also honest - and these days people interpret honest as being a 'dick' if they don't like what the truth was.

As previously mentioned, you're not going to get warm fuzzy happy *censored* from them, but you will get damned good work from them.

As for the google reviews:  I don't know if you noticed, but to me it seems like the flat range was full of a bunch of hunger games, wannabe, hipsters - in other words, people who think they can walk in and know how to be a pro-archer and don't take hearing the truth very well.

Seems like a good summary of my experience with them as well.

p.s. I had them make some strings for my old bow, a Reflex, and they were great. Will probably get them to replace the strings on my Alphamax here pretty quick.

Bill has always teated me like a king and taken care of my stuff in the past . I had a bit of falling out with one of his employies and havent spent much time in there over the past couple of years . they are plenty capible of handling repairs as long as they arnt too busy . when rushed the quality goe's down give them time and you should be fine . It's like most any thing when rushed qaulity drops . there has been times in the past where bill really saved my bacon and got me back in the woods and no doubt would give up his bow to put a client in the woods . If your looking for a hoyt it's the best place around . if you play with bow techs then i'd go to rockcreek .

Bought my Parker there. Great group of guys there, very helpful and they take pride in their work. I'll go there for all my maintenance, etc.

Ya, I got my bow back and I have no complaints. I didn't see anything like what the Google reviews mentioned. They did a MUCH better job than Cabela's and for significantly less. They took the time to try and make sure the peep wouldn't be twisting or anything like that, and made a few tweaks, just to make sure everything was set up right and everything was working the way it was supposed to. I wouldn't hesitate to go in there again for compound stuff.

Look at the history, they have come up in other conversations.  I quit going their about 5 years back.  Maybe it has changed since, unfortunately I have no need to go back.

It's the closest shop to my house.  As others have said, if they're real busy, they may not give you time of day.  Catch them on a weeknight and not the weekend and they'll try to help you get your stuff dialed in.  If you're new to the sport, they come across a little impatient and irritated that you don't know your ass from your elbow, but they still try to help out.

Noting but good to say about them. All our bows are from there, strings built there and most products bought there.  Very helpful and friendly.

From the Seattle area north, I would not take my bow anywhere else. They have replaced limbs and got my bow back in shooting condition before an opener, tweaked my set up more than a few times so it is perfect.. answered questions whenever I had them and their knowledge and putting together a bow is second to none so far.

As far as the attitude there.. its like hunting camp.. they guys are a bunch of ball busters and kid with you. If you have a soft ego and cant relax and have a little fun and receive and dish out some ribbing then the Big Box stores are guess are for you.

Bottom line though.. I never worry about how my bow is put together after they work on it. They have a very high standard of how they work on any bow set up.

:yeah:  Bill and company always work to do the right thing.
Bought my Hoyt from Bill 2 years ago, just had it re-strung there too!
I happily recommend them whenever possible.

Alright. I left a compound for them to do the strings on. Sounds like I should be fine.

I had Cabelas do the strings last year and they screwed all kinds of stuff up. They (Cabelas) called me to tell me it was done and they had never put any of the stuff back on, like the peep, the silencers, or the drop away cable. Then in their hurry to put the thing back together while I was waiting they chewed up the brand new cables and frayed the ends where they connect to the cams. I suspect they may have screwed up my draw weight too. When I dropped the bow off at Nock Point, he measured the draw weight at 51#. When I bought it, it was set at 60#. Only people that messed with it in the interim was Cabelas last year. Wont be going to Cabelas again.

Anyone have any experience with them for traditional stuff?

new cables can affect draw weight.  they basically preload the limbs, so if the cable was a little longer... well, there is your 51 lbs
