If you haven't seen this website yet, you need to take a look: http://fishingthechehalis.net/  You can view the lawsuit on that website.

Winds of change are brewing and the NOF process is very interesting this year.

I know I am not the only one who messes with nets and boats. i cast into there nets and pull and i dont care whatt anyone says they need to stop with the nets its killing everyones season but the people who net. Its sad when you go by the boat launch and there aree 30 people buying fish 10 to 15 a pop and they get no taxes taken out for selling the fish or how much fish is wasted yet again i dont care what you call it or what you call me. its wrong and its about time thwy are  doing something about it.

Man I like that site ...we need it happening on all rivers in Western washington ...just like my kid getting a ticket for ( quote) Mishandling wild steelhead out of the water ...But I can pick up a magizine with a warden holding a wild steelhead out of the water from down there somewhere and it goes on to say how he used a big red plug  :yike: But that is justified because he is a Bio/warden or whatever he does and that makes it legal for him to do so  :bash: :bash: we go to court on Tuesday and I can not wait to get there  :yeah:

Good luck. It's hard to stop netting when they are getting $12 lb for springers.

Here is a good video detailing the "selective fishing" employed by WDFW and the gill nets.

Thanks to whoever is taking the time to document this. Some of those folks should take a look at what the end-game is for commercial fisherman like the ones who used to go for cod in the north Atlantic.

I've been known to kick  bales of pea hay off the Conway Bridge when the   S. fork of the skagit was criss crossed with nets.
The first bird may get the worm, but it's the second rat that gets the cheese.

Thanks for bringing this up front wsu! I haven't had much time to dig around on that site yet (school, work, life) but I plan to when I get a free moment. However I found the nof process to be a bit frightening. I had no idea... :yike:

What do you mean?
There were entire towns in Canada on the North Atlantic dedicated to cod fishing.  A few years back the cod fishery finally just collapsed.  The gov said 'no more' and entire towns were about to be unemployed.  A large number of the fisherman were able to switch over to crabbing, but too many crabbers there and now the crab stocks are being scaled back before collapse.  Basically, what employment opportunities are available for when the fishing in the northern pacific gets shutdown and thousands of commies are suddenly out of work.
