Must be some young cats?
"One does not hunt in order to kill; on the contrary, one kills in order to have hunted..If one were to present the sportsman with the death of the animal as a gift he would refuse it. What he is after is having to win it, to conquer the surly brute through his own effort and skill with all the extras that this carries with it: the immersion in the countryside, the healthfulness of the exercise, the distraction from his job." It looks like the coyotes are wondering the same thing.  :chuckle:  I know that a House Cat is like a dish of ice cream to a coyote.  If a pack of coyotes can gang up on these kittens, it's party time!
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

Predators see other predators as competition.  To the coyotes that is just a tender meal.  I am positive they will kill and eat them if they can.  There are several studies that show that coyotes will eat domestic cats.  Not much difference from one cat to another other than size and attitude.

Another interesting tidbit.  Cougars are know to eat coyotes.

Its scenarios like this that make me wonder how much flack I would get for shooting one of the "kittens". As far as I can tell, there is no spots anywhere on either cat so I would think that would make them fair game for hunters. Hate to really stir the pot on this but if I ran into a cat that size (yes, they are small) and had no spots, it would get and arrow through its lungs.  :twocents:

Those lion cubs would be one heck of a handful for those yotes, even as small as they are.

I suspect the yotes been harrassing those kittens for a good long while.

cool pic...I wouldn't think those yotes would be able to kill those kittens even though they are little grown cats are know to kill wolves so I wouldn't think 2 coyotes would be able to take 2 kittens might be a good fight though

Pretty cool picture indeed a hawk 2 yotes and 2 cougars in one pic! I know that the coyotes will kill a bobcat when they get a chance so I would think if there was a couple of them they would probably kill a small lion. I have also heard of a few lions eating yotes in the winter.
