Bear Hunting in OCT/NOV

I'm new to the state and bear hunting. Where should I concentrate my efforts in finding a bear in mid OCT / early NOV? I'm located at Ft. Lewis but willing to travel and will be using my trusted Mathews.

Most of the berries will be gone at that time so they will be concentrating on other food sources. Orchards, fish, carrion, salal, grubs, will all be part of their diet. The hard part is Oct/Nov is the heart of the deer and elk seasons and there will be tons of guys in the woods.

Mountain ash, elderberries, some chokecherries if you are in dryer areas.   Alot of feed high this year.   Thornapple or Hallberry if you happen to be in those areas, though they are about done.   My usual tactic if I am still interested in bears this time of year is tracking them, especially with first snows and it has been snowing up high.  Billy is right though, from Today with Muzzel opening (I think its today) through November, the woods are full of folks.
