The point of this treaty is to create a chain of custody for large batches of firearms traded between countries. That way, when a rebel group in Angola commits genocide, we can track it back and say “Hey Egypt, care to explain how those rebels got a hold of 15,000 Vektor R4’s that were last seen with you?”

Yeah? So we will finall see some accountability with the "Justice" Department despite the attorney general being held in contempt for stone walling?

Yeah, that's going to happen. BCounter, you have to remember that this all comes from the same guy who told us over and over again that Obama wasn't going to go after our guns. He didn't do it in his first term, so there's just no way it could happen in his second. He has integrity! :puke:

Libs were wrong when Obama said he wouldn't go against our guns. My guess is they will be wrong on this too.
"When my bow falls, so shall the world. When me heart ceases to pump blood to my body, it will all come crashing down. As a hunter, we are bound by duty, nay, bound by our very soul to this world. When a hunter dies we feel it, we sense it, and the world trembles with sorrow. When I die, so shall the world, from the shock of loosing such a great part of ones soul." Ezekiel, Okeanos Hunter

Let's revisit this thread when nothing at all happens to anyone's individual guns in America.

This isn't about the UN taking anyone's individual guns and never has been. This is about keeping an ongoing registry of guns sold so the UN gets to see what happens with them down the road. The problem with the UN treaty is that is gives our government a list if we actually abide by what we sign, a list that our government can use to take guns in the future. It remains to be seen if America will put up with that. I think we're a lot closer to it than we ever have been before. It would be a huge mistake to have a registry or for us to allow it.

How many times does it have to be explained that this will not affect gun rights in America whatsoever? Your name will NOT be in any international database. The United freaking Nations does not care about your firearm collection. International trade of firearms between the civilian populations of free countries will not be affected.

Obama is not going to go after your pistol, shotgun, or rifle.
Obama is going to cut the deficit in half.
Obama is going to lower unemployment to 5%.
Obama is going to balance the budget.
Most transparent Administration in history.
He will not raise taxes on you one dime,

Oh, and the UN treaty he wants to sign. His word that it will not have any effect on any American...   :pee:
MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.

Right now as is even if a ban on semiauto scary rifles is not signed, this will indeed impact future importations of AK types and any other imported scary gun. Any gun imported, if we honor this which we will, for Obama has said he wants it. Obama actually made a new EO on the 8Th of march that does just this, so it's moot if the Senate doesn't sign into this. But any gun brought in will be tagged somehow prolly a computer chip or electrally somehow and be able to be traced to owns it.
Can provide a link if anyone needs, or text or both. Basically the Executive order does exactly what the UN treaty does. It also gives large amounts of power to Eric Holder.
Obama's mostly becoming the dictator that we all say he can't be, but even if he's used EO less, all one has to do is do the right kind of EO.
Better hope something bad doesn't happen over N Korea, or his power will transform into just that!!!
