All black or camo bow?..
« on: April 03, 2013, 06:13:03 PM »
I have owned camo bows for the last 15 years.  Never owned camo bow prior to that, just used the camo tape.  Does it really matter?  Thinking of setting up a blacked out bow.  Anyone notice a difference?

I doubt there is a difference.

I would say it may make a difference hunting out of a blind vs out of a tree or on the ground.

In a blind you want your window behind your shooting window closed, Which would make everything black. Why would it make a difference?

i ordered an all black vendetta last month.i would be willing to bet that as long as it is not glimmering you would be a ok.
i ended up settling on a camo one due to it taking so long to get the black one in but i would stake the success of my hunts on an all black bow any day.

Anyone notice a difference?

Only difference I've ever noticed is that when there is a "Hoyt" or "Mathews" logo it seems to go for about $300-400.00 more than it's performance would usually call for ;)

As far as camo-vs-black?  In the woods a stick is a stick.  Some are black others are not.  Makes no difference to the animal.  Though in a blind I do think there is less noticeable movement with dark bows so I use black when in the blind since they don't make dark chocolate brown.
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

No difference, animals will see you drawing back and not give a second thought to the color of the bow.

Look into a blind from the outside, its all black.  Now, sit in there all camo you stick out and every movement can be seen.  When I'm in a blind I wear black and hunt with a black bow.

My bow is all black. I don't think it makes a difference. The animals may laugh a little at me because my quiver is camo though. Everything else is black though. I understand its a huge fashion mistake but it is what it is.

Difference I see is normally the price. The makers are starting to put black bows out for the same money but most bows in a color other then there normal have an added price.

I have been shooting camo bow for some time.  Last year I got an all black bow and killed an elk with it.  The color doesn't matter.
