Hey everyone, just moved to Spokane for school and wanted to do some duck hunting. Dont know much about the area so I was hoping someone might help me out. If anyone needs a hunting partner or just wants to lend some advice I would be greatful. Thanks.

Pend Oreile river can be good.  Idaho has some decent hunting on the CDA river chain lakes.  Central WA... Moses, Othello.  Some decent goose hunting in the fields too.  Overall duck hunting has seemed to slip the last few years around Spo.

Brandon,

I am in the same boat.  Let me know if you want to try and get a hunt in or two.

Sprague Lake!

Unless you hunt by boat; forget it. The shoreline is owned by the Miller Ranch and they take a dim view of trespassers.

I suggest doing some on foot research here: http://wdfw.wa.gov/reg/region1.htm

Also, do some website research here:http://wdfw.wa.gov/

For more info. on public lands with water, visit the Spokane BLM Office, as well.

Not only that, but the western half of Sprague Lake is in a Game Preserve and Illegal to Hunt there.  Can't even have a dog or a gun in the boat if on the preserve.  The Preserve starts at the Lincoln/Adams county Line where it crosses the Lake.  Adams County side is off limits.  Ok to hunt on the lake on the Lincoln County side.  The public boat launch is on the Adams county side but as long as you launch and get to the Lincoln side the WDFW won't harrass ya.

There is a little Pond out at Fishtrap just before you get to Fishtrap Lake on BLM land.  We got a few geese out of it last weekend while Pheasant Hunting in the WDFW Pheasant Planting area.  Saw a few ducks but no shots.  It's a quick trip from spokane and easy access.
