Where to get bow tuned near the Spanaway Puyallup Area
« on: April 29, 2013, 10:42:00 PM »
Im looking to get a full overhaul on my bow. It has the parts it needs, it just needs to be setup and adjusted accordingly.
Does anyone know of any pro shops that do complete tuning and sight pin setup with a Hooter Shooter and a program like Archers Advantage?
I just want it shooting to the best of its ability. Then I can do some slight adjustments to match my human error.
I know I need to learn how to do this all myself but now is not the time.
Its easier for me to just pay to have it done right now.

Heres a video example of what Im looking for.

You need to make the trip to Lucky Shot in Chehalis.  They will set it up correctly and sight in so you can set your pins accordingly.  They have indoor/outdoor ranges.  100yards if ya want or the hilly woods course if open.  I dont see the point of the hoodoo thingy really.  You wont be dissapointed.  Great place.  Think I will drag my bow out for some shooting tomorrow.  Bugs in me know.

Hooter shooter just guarantees shooting in perfect form. That way the bow is tuned best as possible. Then any problems from there is human error or improper form.

Plus my bows got some small problems that no matter how much I read I just dont have the tools or know how to work on it. Just would like it perfect as it can be.

I get what ya saying.  Its just not that simple.  Does it set your peep to your eye or draw length?  You probably wont shoot in perfect machine form so it wont be perfect and will need adjusted.  The techs have equipment that will dial your bow to specs and to you.  The sights are simple once you have the first pin set at 20y.  I bet you can google a calc. to set pins like he did.  As you shoot from 10 to 40yards you will see the natural progression of your pins spacing and can preset em darn close.  Plus you need to be practicing these distances alot to be good.  Honestly it doesnt matter how your bow is set at 80yards if you havent been shooting it to get their. :twocents: Lucky shot will fix it right.

I've got to give a big  to Lucky shot....i recently found my bow with a broken string...took it to someplace local-wont name the stiff- they replaced the string and helped me "tune" it....wasn't real happy with the job and am not a bow expert but when got it back and shot it something just didnt feel right...not to brag but i've shot bottle caps at 40 yards before but now couldn't get it to group to my satisfaction at 30 yds...put the bow up for a year but recently took it down to lucky shot to make sure it was good for this fall.  they immediately showed me that my drop away rest was hooked up wrong to my string and that was making my arrows shoot up, not straight/square from my string and in someone had tried to "recitfy" the problem but had only managed to strip out the screw hole in my rest.  Lucky Shot was able to re-thread the correct hole in my bow that the rest needed and checked for squareness.  was able to paper tune it there and fire about 20 shots on the range to make sure things were solid.  They also checked my wife's bow for tuneage and poundage as she hasn't shot hers in about 3 years.  Everything on hers was solid.  Took almost an hour for him to take care of both our needs and asked him what i owed him---his response-$5...asked him what if i thought $5 was too much  :chuckle: and he said then don't worry about what he did and they would make it up the next time we were down there....i will never go any where else to have my bow worked on....thanks Lucky Shot

Hey, Smossy.  Bring it in to the Federal Way Sportsman's, and I'll set it up for you.  I don't have a Hooter Shooter, but I don't think you will find a shop that does.  No charge .
Hunt hard and shoot straight!
