looking for mule deer hunting area
« on: October 03, 2008, 05:46:00 PM »
Hey all, im new here and this is my first post. I really want to hunt mule deer but i dont know where to go. I would like to find somewhere close to White Pass. I live in east Lewis county, so it wouldnt be too far of a drive. so i was just wondering if there is any public land to hunt around there.  thanks!

pick up some USFS maps and you're in business.  Use a compass and/or GPS, and let somebody know where you are headed.  Big country up in there.

ok thanks. i've always wanted to hunt for muleys but never got around to it. i've just always stuck to areas that i know for blacktail. and get this, my brother in-law and his buddy are goin mule deer hunting right on the otherside of the pass and invited me to go along. he called me right after i made the post. talk about timing. he said where they are hunting is mostly timber. any tips? do muleys behave like blacktail? thanks again
