Ridgerunner'S moose update
« on: October 03, 2008, 08:12:07 PM »
Well our experience was similar to Robodad's in some ways, not so similiar in others, I just got home and have 4 kids and a wife that need a little attention so I'll get something written up within a few days, long story since Monday night when we started scouting to today we saw 13 bulls and 10 cows.  Haven't killed anything yet, came close a couple of times.  Craig will fill in with some pics soon too.  All in all a great time despite the weather(I got sunburned) and I can see why Moose hunting is so addicting, nothing like having one of those guys coming in at you full speed.   :chuckle:

Hang in there Ridge, I hope you have some time in the next week to hunt more of the rut.

I ain't done yet boys, will head back over sometime in early November when the leaves are down and we have a little snow.  Filling the tag shouldn't be too much of a problem, I just need a few more days to find the one I really want.  Saw him the night before the opener.  Nice long palms, double brows, good points up top and about 45-46 wide.  If I can't find him there are plenty in there that will fill the bill.

I were not kidding about a bunch of bulls in there ;) good job on not shooting the teasers. many many times I have heard/seen hot cows in ther during elk and the former late deer season.
