east side help
« Reply #60 on: April 28, 2013, 04:52:35 PM »
thank you guys the blues is that the name of the unit i would turn in for? don't want to get excited but this is the first time i have drawn anything and i know even with all the points i have does not mean i will draw i just don't want to waste them
If your asking this question then you have not done enough homework!!!! Do your homework and you will answer all the questions your asking us!  :twocents:
The blues is a HARD!!!! hunt you have been warned! Many people that have never been there apply and get drawn and upon show up are mentally beat and never fill the tag!! Good luck and I would look a little closer to home first  :twocents:

This is all part of doing ones' homework.

I applied for the Modern Firearm Dayton permit, and the September rut hunt in Peaches Ridge for Quality Bull. I got 16 points. I regret applying for both permits, after reading the number of people planning on applying for the same hunts. If I could change it; I would apply for Naches and something else. Lot's of people apply for those, but at least they offer way more permits.

It is not too late to change, all you have to do is call wdfw tomorrow and tell them what you want to switch to or just tell them to reset your picks and they will do it.

 :yeah:

I called and changed my deer hunt choices on the quality permit application last Friday. Only took about 5 minutes. Just have your WILD ID number ready.

The phone number to call is 360-902-2515.

Great news! I applied for Entiat and Desert for Quality Deer. I think I will change them too. Any recomendations for Quality Deer and Elk hunts, which are a little more under the radar. I could careless about shooting the biggest in the woods. I just want a good quality animal.

If you want to keep it under the radar I will PM you some thoughts, first send me a pm with some info. Weapon, health conditions (road hunter or love to hike) east side elk or deer, do you like blacktails? Would you be happy with a 250 to 300'' bull? Let me know via a Personal Message and give me a day to give you my 2 cents.

Good thing is I already love this forum and I'm good at bar stools, you guy rock!

I suck at finding elk but I pack well, we hunt in notellum!

Based off what I have read thus far on this site. Pretty much no GMU is a secret. Not even the notellum GMU.

Its just like Woodchuck to invite the new guys to the elk units that don't have any elk in them. Just wolves. Sorry.  He's our resident prankster.

Should have known it, sounded to good to be true...

Hunt Little Naches for Elk and hopefully Dayton for Special Deer, or around SWestern Washington for deer when I don't get drawn.

From what I see already it would be a honor to hunt with any of ya!

They're in front of the trees. The elk use the trees to hold themselves in place so they don't roll down the hills in their sleep.

Welcome to the site. I'd like to see the result of the Dayton deer hunt if you do draw.
