Quick Detach for Tripod
« on: April 09, 2013, 09:38:22 PM »
Im looking for some sort of attachment that would allow me to put my dslr on my slick 340ez tripod and switch out between my spotter fairly easily? Anything out there like that?

There should be a small base-plate with a single screw facing up for your cameras etc to screw onto. The base plate should be able to release with just the click of a button or trigger. Does your tripod not have this? If it does I may have an extra base-plate you could have given the measurements are the same.

Google "quick detach base for _______ tripod." Insert whatever kind of tripod you have and you should find something.

im looking for an extra base plate to put on my dslr so I can just switch out between my spotter and camera with out having to screw each one in every time I swap between the two. Just trying to see if theres anything out on the market thats better for this use for the camera  :dunno:

Just have a base-plate pre-screwed already on each piece of equipment.

1 piece goes on the tripod and stays there. Then the other half goes on the attaching piece. 1 on your camera, 1 on your spotter, and they stay there.
So I have a Vortex High Country tripod. It already has the "receiving end" attached to the tripod. I would buy a few of these to attach to spotter, camera, bino holder, etc. so I could swap out options.

You need to buy the receiving end that would attach to your tripod. There are generic ones around.

Check this out.

The only downside to those adapters is you have to take them off to use a sling or harness. Someone needs to design a generic attach plate with a screw hole on it's bottom, LOL.
