Really sad that holding a fish out of water has a penalty that could include 1/4 of a year in jail. Meanwhile, tweekers and burglars roam the streets with their 2 years probation as a 'tough sentence'.

My comment isn't just directed at this specific case, but also at the WAC and the penalties under the RCWs. Again, we are at a point in society when it is possible/acceptable to be jailed for 90 days for holding a fish out of the water.
Unbelievable isn't it?

I understand protecting the steelhead, but it seems very excessive for a first offense by a kid, if their was a history of the same offense I could see after 3 times you pay big time. I doubt the kid even knew that it was illegal or he wouldn't have facebooked it. This is a good example of unrealistic laws.
FYI it seems that you fall into a special place with law enforcement. I have known a few people that have suffered what you are going through. As long as you make waves and call attention to yourself they will pay extra attention to you and your family. Not saying its right, but if you don't want extra drama don't make any additional drama.
