New grouse getter
« on: April 19, 2013, 07:47:31 PM »
Picked up the pistols my dad left me at the gun shop today. I remember the Ruger from when I was younger and have always liked it. Its a single six with both the .22lr and the .22 mag wheels. I look forward to trying it out for some grouse this fall. The Colt belonged to my grandfather and is a .357 Trooper. Both of these are now treasured possessions of mine.

Killed many groue, blues and ruffs, along w countless bunnies with an old 3-screw. Will be grabbing the next one to cross my path, for old times sake! Nice guns there, and probably some sentimental memories there too!

Nice guns, but better memories.  Think of the joy you'll have sharing with your kids later in life. Great family treasures.

I'm sure you know how lucky you are, good luck on the hunt.
That's my one shot.

Very cool! I love shooting grouse with a 22 pistol. I probably could have doubled or tripled my total grouse number had I used a shotgun. I mostly use my 22/45 now, but back when the S6 was all I had it served it' s purpose.

Can't wait to give it a go. I think a grouse camp might be in order this year.

We've had a Idaho grouse camp the last few years. You get to sleep in, usually get to shoot more than one critter.  No pressure, and you get to see some beautiful country during a great time of year.
