Youth hunt success
« on: April 09, 2013, 09:08:05 PM »
We took my buddies daughters out this weekend in an attempt to get them each a bird. We pushed them hard through a bunch of rain and nasty winds and each got a bird. The birds were hard to work but we stuck at it and made it work. Saturday was much better than Sunday as far as working them. I really enjoyed working with his girls. We split them up and worked two different groups. The oldest got her third bird in two years and his youngest got her first bird in her first year of hunting. The oldest got a 9.5" bearded bird and the youngest got a jake. My boy got to go along and watch which he loved.  I love the last picture. It's a peak at our future.

Awesome! Nice work! Great pics! I like that terrain down your way. Seems like good country to work some birds. Congrats to the young hunters!

Great Job!  We didn't have the same luck but had lots of fun looking.  Leaving for Spokane next Thursday for 3 days of hunting on the east side.

Did you try that spot out?  If you did, did you hear any?

We worked the spots W of 97.  Saw two toms but they wouldn't come in.  Heard a couple more gobble to the calls but nothing would come in close enough to take a shot at.  BigD helped us out as well.
