«
on:
April 12, 2013, 06:09:20 PM »
Some of us local Tri -Cities guys decided to put on a less formal shoot on May 18th. $15/shooter entry. Trailer to any public water. Big 10 format.
Here's the flyer.

Martin Archery stepped up big for us for Spawn-a-thon!!!! I think we always expect that a local company would want to take care of their community, but we rarely see it this day and age. This is deffinitly an exception!
Thank you Martin Archery for supporting Sportsmen
.
Martin Archery has gererously donated a brand NEW...
2012 Martin Cougar Pro FC Nitro 2.0 (Retail value: $520) 345 FPS.
Again we will be raffling off this bow to a lucky participant of Spawn-a-thon, May 18th 6:00 pm (Kennewick Ranch and Home).

My boy and I did a little practice shoot this afternoon. Getting ready for Spawn-a-thon!
Here is a nice 20 pounder!

My buddy and I actually saw a carp just like the one on the flyer on Sunday. Got us so excited we flung arrows that didn't come within a foot of the fish. First thing we both said was "That was Spawn-a-thon!". Too much fun.

I used to shoot them with a bow in Moses Lake parker horn on the east side of 17. I quit after feeling guilty about leaving them on the shore to rot.

Update!
With Spawn-a-thon being less than a week away I thought I would update everyone out there on what to expect.
- We will begin registering boats/shooters at 6:30am in the Kennewick Ranch and Home Parking lot (main entrance).
- Ranch and Home will be open for anyone that needs/wants to purchase any last minute gear.
- Rules meeting will be held at 7:30am.
- Shooters will be released at 8:00am.
- We will begin weighing in "Big 10" at 4:00pm, Everyone must turn in their weight card by 5:00pm to be weighed.
- Awards/Free Bow Raffle 6:30pm.
Right now conditions are superb. Water could be a little clearer but being as high as it is the fish are up in the reeds and very accessible. Guys this week have been very successful, shooting numbers into the 60s-70s in a single trip. Females are large and most fish are running in pods. Hopefully Spawn-a-thon will be true to it's name
Weather is also looking favorable with the projected forecast being 75 degrees and mostly sunny.
Hope to see everyone there. From the feedback we've got, it looks like participation could be exceptional.
Get your gear and get out on the water!

One more thing....
Entry fees must be paid in CASH! We (WBAse) will all be shooting too. No time to run to the bank.
Thanks.

Thanks. Someday hopefully we can schedule a shoot that doesn't conflict with your harvest. We'll post results here when we get done.

I might hold ya to that. The way this sport is growing I wouldn't be surprised if there's a tourney in the winter in the next few years. Waters pretty clear then

Agreed we shot some in December and it was pretty cool they were sluggish but still a lot of fun. Just have to find open water, hard to shoot threw ice or run the boat threw it

The results should be up on Washingtonbowfishing.com by the end of today. (not quite sure how to put a PDF on here).
It was an awesome turnout and a great time! Weather could have been better, but when isn't that true
I'll try and get some pics up ASAP. Thanks to everyone that helped and participated. Especially Martin Archery and Kennewick Ranch and Home.

Here are the results for the day. These guys did awesome considering water and weather conditions. There's nothing worse than wind and clouds to a bowfisher, and we had both this weekend. 30 mph winds kept most guys off of the big water where the pigs live. However, we weighted in almost 2500 lbs in the Big 10 format, and an estimated 4500 lbs overall. Awesome!!!!

Yea he was the perfect winner. He was the only guy in the shoot that tried to get fish from the bank. He ended up driving all over the Tri-Cities and only got one shot, and missed it. But he's completly forgot all about that heartache now
