Hit the hills in NE WA this past weekend
« on: April 16, 2013, 11:17:38 PM »
Made it up to a spot I spend alot of time hunting over the years with my girlfriend for the weekend. I have hunted this area since I was 10 yrs old and remember the days of seeing lots of deer and spent many of days as a youth up here with my dad and friends. Well the last 15 years the area has been void of deer and just depressing to see when we are up bear hunting over the years. In a 5 day bear hunt and all the glassing that goes on we see maybe 5 deer in a trip. This last weekend I saw more deer than I have ever in my life up there, maybe 150 whiteys, 30 bucks and 1 was still packin a 5x5 120" rack still! We saw 40 elk in total and 5 coyotes..which one took a dirt nap :chuckle: and 1 big bear out and about.

watching the elk on the hill

this bull was packing still

One of my hunters saw 2 5x5 bulls yesterday while turkey hunting. Both bulls had both of their horns.  :yike:
