Quit worrying about ticks!

Seriously, they aren't a big deal. Get some decent tick medication and call it a day!  We have ticks on top of ticks down here in the south!  Honestly, if I mow my lawn without getting a tick, chiggers, or step in fire ants, I've had a good day!  I've pulled more ticks off my dogs than I can count!  Just make sure you have decent medication and you have no worries.  There's a reason Brad Paisley sings the song!  They are all over, and we don't stress about them!......

Had to deal with them my whole life. I find enjoyment in the freak out sessions that ensue. Same goes for snakes. If you're so worried about them stay home or change seasons. Good call.

And I've seen those southern bugs.. Stuff out of alien movies!

I usually just poured hydrogen peroxide(sp) on after I pulled the tick out.  I didn't know they had tick medication out there.  Is there anything you can suggest?  Thanks.

One good thing about wood ticks.  Take a new girlfreind camping and the "tick check" breaks the ice real fast.

I treat my turkey gear with "Sawyer's" bug spray prior to heading out. Didn't have a single tick on me this year. Good product!

The ticks out near the coast on the peninsula have been testing positive for the microorganism that causes Lyme disease.

I don't fret or worry, but I still hate the damned things.  They do carry some nasty diseases that I would not like to end with.  Even the better repellents do not keep them off they simply prevent them from attaching.  Ticks end up on your dogs coat and when said tick finds it does not like the potential host, they drop off.  In your house or where ever, and look for a new host.  I don't Top Spot myself or family and a tick does not have to be attached very long to transfer a disease. Treated Patients with Lyme, no fun at all.  Mosquitoes, I hate those damned things too.

Yep  ,  sray outter garments and wear bugskins as a base layer...........no problems.

If i'm not concerned about the odor, I spray my boots and pant cuffs with Repel with DEET.  for a scentless application, I treat my boots and cuffs with the Pyrethrin spray every few weeks.  Last year I sat down on a hillside to watch for Rockchucks, and found a few creepy-crawlies on my vest when I got home, but none crawled up my pantlegs, so I was OK.
Ticks are just another part of living in the Great NCW...
