Not real tough......drag your gear above 50 in the morning and don't be afraid to follow them down when the sun comes up. Slow is the name of the game...stick with your basic humpy gear....white dodger and pink hoochie. I like to keep a rod rigged ready to go with a jig or buzz bomb. I've leared a need little trick....don't horse them up to fast and you may get some followers...they will hit a jig right next to the boat. Look for nets in the air......should be plenty of fish come the 10th.

I often drag a dive plane off the middle of the stern.  One of the medium sized ones out 66' sure did the trick yesterday with a small white dodger and a pink hoochie.

Lostbackpacker, I have the boat moored in the South Marina there in Everett to avoid the boat ramp. Was thinking about pulling out of there about 6:00 on Saturday morning if all goes as planned. Will look at the tides are doing too.

White inboard Weldcraft, Grey top, and FISH 4 FUN across the back fish cooler on the jet guard. Will have channel 68 on too

Fish....Keep in mind:

6:00 a.m. – 7:00 a.m. - Check in and Boat Assignments
6:30 a.m. - 173rd Airborne Association presents the American Flag, Pledge of Allegiance
 7:00 a.m. – FISH ON!
3:00 p.m. – Check in, BBQ, and Raffle

I'm not planning until making a run for the boat until the flag is presented.......

h20...  I was speaking of this weekend, will be getting out of the marina about 6:00 this Saturday August 3rd for a little practice fishing. I want all of my gear dialed in before the 10th. FISH 4 FUN went in the water last night and is tied up in her slip and ready

For the morning of the event I plan on being down on the boat about 5:00 a.m. to get all of the final prep done and also get some heat in the Small Block Chevy. If the water is smooth that morning I am sure it is going to be a sight with all of the boats heading out to where ever they go. I am sure there are going to be a few that have the HP to pull out and lead the pack though.

Fish....got it.....

I agree on all counts. I'd like to get the boat launched tied up, prepped, warmed up and ready to go. They are going to need somebody on the dock to get a pic of the fleet with our flags flying as we go by.

I will be getting some pics of both Friday and Saturday of all of the boats.
I actually ordered a flag and it will be here today. I think it was a 2'X3' nylon so it won't pull too hard on the antenna and still have good size. All I have to do is move the boat from the South Marina over to the North on Friday, I have moorage for F4F until September, then will bring it home for our clubs annual Coho Derby.

Lost...  I am planning on fishing Sunday if I can, the wife's Dad was just told his cancer is spreading so Sunday is up in the air right now. She knows how important it is for us to have our game plan for next weekend, so I will more than likely be there Sunday morning. Will let you know on here Saturday evening and also a report for how we did.

I know that they are handing out flags at the event but I'll be grabbing a few of my own as well. Nothing to fancy....just Old Glory on a stick ziptied to my bow rails.

Also.....just in case folks didn't know....they are providing bag lunches for capt and crew as well as our guests. I'll be adding some venison summer sausage, cheese, cracker, cookies...that kind of thing to the mix but there will be some provisions provided.

Good point, I forgot all about saying they are giving lunches out to the boat Skippers and crews. Same here with the venison goodies in our boat too. Summer Sausage, Pepperoni, Jerky and maybe some landjaeger that my buddy had done up.
With all of the deer snack's have to watch out for boat raiders at the dock, now which boat was yours   :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

I'll be flying Old Glory out of my Rocket Launcher, a big house flag...  Of course the boat will right up front, the white Wooldridge with green canvas and "Cohoho" on the hardtop, stop by Friday for a cold one..  Were fishing Friday all day- taken out some of the sponsors to give them something for their contributions.  But - opening the cooler when we get back to the dock that afternoon.  Saturday is going to be a hoot for sure.  See you all there.  Mike

Hi All
We will do our best to get everyone out on the water as soon as possible after registration and the pledge. We have several in wheelchairs to load and also keep in mind several of the boats are larger and can only do 8 knots or so. Their travel times to the fishing grounds are much greater than others. We need to get them going as soon as we can!

Looks like the weather will hold out for us as well. Saturday is reported right now to be mostly cloudy, high of 73 and winds less than 5.
